I was born in Cuba, raised in Jamaica, and moved to Hollywood, Florida, at the age of 17. It took me a while to adjust to the difference in culture, but I quickly began to understand my parents’ views in seeing this as an opportunity for a better, brighter future. Many immigrants come with this same dream. Leaving their comfort, their family, and their roots behind in search of a greater life for themselves and their children. This is where my journey in medicine began. I can still recall the Miami- Dade College guidance counselor that saw my potential. He saw a special light in me. I always had a passion for healing. As a licensed massage therapist for 10 years and counting, I believe in alleviating pain and helping people feel better, while improving their overall wellbeing. Starting my residency at Abrazo Central is the light at the end of a very long, challenging tunnel, where I can finally utilize the skills that I have learnt all these years to improve the health of our community and ultimately the world. I am extremely honored to be a part of such a wonderful team, where I can join great minds, with passionate hearts to work together to positively impact lives. My aim is to promote preventative medicine, as well as use the principles of integrative medicine to enhance patient wellness; specifically focusing on underserved communities, both here in the US and globally.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, taking my son to the park, walking my dog, listening to music, traveling as much as time permits, and trying out new healthy and delicious recipes.
