Below are examples of just a few of the recognitions:
Cardiovascular Care
Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital, Abrazo Arrowhead Campus, Abrazo Central Campus, Abrazo Scottsdale Campus and Abrazo West Campus are accredited Chest Pain Centers by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.
Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital earned the Mission: Lifeline Silver Receiving Award from the American Heart Association for its success in adhering to quality measures for STEMI Receiving Centers for STEMI heart attacks patients. Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital has also earned the Atrial Fibrillation, Cardiac Cath Lab, Chest Pain Center and Heart Failure accreditations from the American College of Cardiology. These designations represent the hospital’s commitment to consistent, high-quality cardiovascular care and dedication to all patients, providers and other stakeholders.
Abrazo Arrowhead Campus was recognized with the Blue Distinction Center Award for Cardiac Care by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona for meeting national standards for quality and affordability.

Emergency
Abrazo West Campus is a Level I Trauma center. This demonstrates that the hospital meets essential criteria for trauma care, institutional performance and commitment to providing high quality care for critically injured patients.

The Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Programs for adults at Abrazo Central Campus are accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). One-on-one care to develop and implement an individualized care plan that meets
your unique physical, occupational and speech-related needs.
Orthopedics
Abrazo Arrowhead Campus has been designated an Aetna Institute of Quality® Orthopedic Care Facility for total joint replacement of knees and hips.
Abrazo Arrowhead Campus was recognized with the Blue Distinction Center Award for Knee and Hip Replacement for meeting national standards for quality and affordability by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.
Stroke Care
Abrazo Arrowhead Campus, Abrazo Central Campus, Abrazo Scottsdale Campus and Abrazo West Campus are certified Primary Stroke Centers by The Joint Commission.
Abrazo Central Campus is certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, reflecting the hospital’s investment in neuroscience talent and capabilities. Comprehensive Stroke Centers can treat patients suffering hemorrhagic or large ischemic strokes
with follow up care in an intensive care unit. Centers can also treat patients with suspected aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, those requiring specialized testing or therapies such as endovascular surgery, and those requiring multispecialty management.
The certification affirms that Abrazo Central addresses the full spectrum of cerebrovascular diseases – diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and education – and establishes clear metrics to evaluate outcomes. It is based on standards created
by the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association, and granted by DNV GL Healthcare, a certification body operating in more than 100 countries.
Abrazo Arrowhead Campus and Abrazo Central Campus are recipients of the 2021 American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get with the Guidelines Gold Plus Honor Roll Elite awards for using the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatment guidelines for improved patient care and outcomes.
Surgical Weight Loss
The Abrazo Medical and Surgical Weight Loss program at Abrazo Scottsdale Campus, an accredited comprehensive bariatric facility through the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), has earned top designations for quality and value in bariatric surgery. We are proud to have Blue Distinction+, Optum Center of Excellence and Cigna 3 Star Quality designations for bariatric surgery!

Abrazo Arrowhead Campus was recognized with the Blue Distinction Center Award for Maternity Care for meeting national standards for quality and affordability by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.
